ShantaramShantaram by Gregory David Roberts
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I fear putting into words what this book means to me. Some books I can read 300 pages in half a day. Some books I read, savor and be silent the whole day hung over by the story and devoured by the words. I wrote to Roberts like millions of others fans, a 5000 worded letter knowing it won’t be read. It still lies in my Evernote that I share personally to close friends but not on my blog.

Roberts story and narrative makes every reader envisage India magically and unrealistically, which is the point one needs to stop romanticizing the India experience. But then, one must also stop analyzing and let the book enrich one’s thirst for drama, stories and wisdom.
